Associate Editor
Yonghong Ding, PhD, Springer Nature, ChinaYonghong is the Locum Editor for BMC Cancer and BMC Palliative Care. He joins the BMC Series after working at a Cancer Therapeutic company in Shanghai where he helped develop analytical methods to monitor purity and charge heterogeneity of antibodies. Prior to that he completed his master and PhD at the University of Leipzig and undertook postdoctoral work as a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences in Göttingen. There he was involved in developing a quick magnetic resonance-based assay to image tumors ​in vivo. He is currently based in Springer Nature Shanghai Office.

Jane Phillips, PhD, RN, FACN, Queensland University of Technology, AustraliaProfessor Jane Phillips, PhD, RN, FACN is Head of School at the QUT School of Nursing and Professor of Palliative Nursing. She is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience as a leader in research and education in the health sector. She has just been named Australia’s top researcher in the field of hospice and palliative care in the Australian’s list of top 250 researchers in 2021. Jane was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame in 2021 and is an Inaugural Fellow of Palliative Care Nurses Australia. Jane is at the forefront of her field and brings her considerable clinical nursing, national policy and academic expertise to deliver outcomes that are changing practice and enhancing palliative care globally. Her interdisciplinary program of research targets the delivery of care that enables people to spend more days in their place of choice, move seamlessly between care settings and receive the best evidence-based palliative care. She was previously the Director of IMPACCT, (Improving Palliative, Aged and Chronic Care Through Clinical Research and Translation), at the University of Technology Sydney where she is an Emerita Professor.
Barry Quinn, PhD, Queen’s University Belfast, UK
Barry, is a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Cancer and Palliative Care at Queen’s University Belfast and Mohamed Bin Rashid University, Dubai. He has been working as a clinician, academic and researcher in the field of cancer and palliative care for over 30 years. He has published numerous articles on a range of palliative and end-of-life care issues including, spirituality, symptom management, communication and compassionate leadership. He is the Chair of two European expert groups, Managing Advanced Cancer Pain (MACPT) and European Oral Care in Cancer (EOCC). He is a frequent keynote speaker at national and international meetings, he has published articles and book chapters on a range of palliative and nursing issues. He is a member of the All Ireland Palliative Care Research Network. He joined the Editorial Board of BMC Palliative Care in 2020 and has appointed as a Senior Editorial Board Member in October 2022.
